Pineapple Pretzel Fluff

1 C pretzels, coarsely chopped
1 C sugar, divided
1/2 C butter or margarine, melted
8 oz. cream cheese
12 oz. Cool Whip
20 oz. crushed pineapple, drained

Mix 1/2 C sugar, melted butter and pretzels. Spread into 9 x 13 in. pan. Bake 7-8 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool.

In large bowl, cream 1/2 sugar and cream cheese. Fold in pineapple and Cool Whip. Right before serving, break up pretzel mixture and stir in.
