In elementary school, I went to a parochial school. They always had warm lunches, and this was one of my favorite desserts. (I was also the champion milk spiller back in those days.)
1/2 C dark Karo or Pancake syrup 1 C brown sugar 1 C creamy peanut butter 4 C Puffed wheat cereal (Sugar Smacks)
In a double boiler, combine syrup and brown sugar. Stir until soft ball stage is reached. Combine with peanut butter and cereal. Place in a 9 X 13 greased pan. Spread out evenly .
